This question was the headline of the following Yahoo news story.

http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/105427/Uncomfortable-Answers-to-Questions-on-the-Economy

Is there any doubt? Why does the corporate controlled media continue to spin it like we actualy might not be in a rescession?

Will Obama's quest for government run healthcare while more people lose their jobs hurt the Democrats in 2010?

Americans are angry with Washington as much for what it isn’t doing as what it is.

What it isn’t doing the most is paying attention to the still-raging economic disaster.

Last week’s job numbers show unemployment nationally bumping past 10 percent and surpassing 15 percent in Michigan. Unemployment keeps climbing, even though President Barack Obama and Congress nine months ago committed 7 billion to creating jobs.

Since then, neither the White House nor Congress has spent a minute honestly analyzing whether the stimulus program is accomplishing its goal, and if not, what other approaches might work.

Instead, the administration is spinning dismal economic reports into positive news, allowing both it and Congress to ignore the economy while they pursue their ideological ends.

It ought to infuriate anyone who’s lost a job, can’t find a job, is worried about his job or lives in a community ravaged by a lack of jobs that Congress devotes nearly all of its energy to arguing about health care.

My taking a deaf ear to the economy many Democrats could find themselves as part of the unemployed ranks after the Congressional elections next November.

Liberals, how will raising taxes on the rich affect the economy?

According to your leadership, Democrats are reluctant to raising taxes. All the while, Democrats have said the problem with the economy is Bush’s tax breaks.

Why would the Democrats NOT raise taxes?

START SPINNING!

Here’s the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_tax_cuts
Steve: Create MORE jobs in the private sector, there-by creating a larger tax base.
TEAGAN: You, my friend, are a great American. Liberals, read Teagan’s answer, and PLEASE, try to learn something!
Capt. Cold: Now, explain what happens when your Government gets the taxes. That’s right, WASTE. You can’t use government to control the flow of money!
BY THE WAY: AS I SHOWED WITH THE LINK….IT’S THE DEMOCRATS THAT ARE THINKING TWICE ABOUT RAISING TAXES! WHY IS THAT?

I DIDN’T ASK THE QUESTION TO DEBATE "MY SIDE" OF THE STORY. EXPLAIN WHY "YOUR SIDE" IS BACK-SLIDING!

So opponents of gay marriage are spinning the truth again….?

They’ve tried saying homosexuality will be taught in schools……….
They’ve tried saying homosexuality is contagious……
now they’re saying; gay marriage HURTS THE ECONOMY.

http://www.ontopmag.com/article.aspx?id=6146&MediaType=1&Category=26

Which is quite laughable…………considering that every major university study on this issue has consistently concluded that gay marriage HELPS THE ECONOMY.
through all the money spent on tourism & wedding services.

http://politics.usnews.com/news/national/articles/2008/06/11/an-economic-boost-from-gay-marriage.html

Studie from Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law show that gay marriage has been a boom for states that have legalized it. A 2008 study estimated that the institution would generate 0 million for Iowa through 2011.

In 5 years time, gay marriages pumped 1 million into the state of Massachusetts.

http://www.capecodtoday.com/blogs/index.php/2009/05/16/fifth-anniversary-of-same-sex-marriage-r?blog=53

I suppose you could argue, "oh, they would have spent that money anyway even if gay marriage wasn’t legal."
but the NUMBERS show a different story.
The numbers show legalization has a direct link with the money spent on it.

So opponents; have you realized that you have no credibility?

Obama is helping small businesses to get loans, how will the naysayers spin this one?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090316/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_economy

Per the article, Obama is helping small businesses to get loans.

According to many in here, that seemed to be one of the ways to boost the economy. Now that President Obama is addressing this, what will his naysayers gripe about now?

Anyone else find the spin they put on this article interesting?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091008/ap_on_bi_go_ec_fi/us_economy
It just seemed like a very positive spin to describe over half million first time jobless claims.

Not really thinking they should go with the sky is falling approach, but I found it a bit laughable.
