Did anyone see Barack Obama’s 30 minute presentation on television Wednesday night? ?

I don’t have cable so I was not able to see it, but the Associated Press article had the following to say about it.

WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.

Obama’s assertion that "I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don’t work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn’t tell them:

THE SPIN: "That’s why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by ,500 a year."

THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by ,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of ,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it’s not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.

___

THE SPIN: "I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care."

THE FACTS: That belief should not be confused with a guarantee of health coverage for all. He makes no such promise. Obama hinted as much in the ad when he said about the problem of the uninsured: "I want to start doing something about it." He would mandate coverage for children but not adults. His program is aimed at making insurance more affordable by offering the choice of government-subsidized coverage similar to that in a plan for federal employees and other steps, including requiring larger employers to share costs of insuring workers.

___

THE SPIN: "I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost."

THE FACTS: Independent analysts say both Obama and Republican John McCain would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama’s policy proposals would add a net 8 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: "Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years." The analysis goes on to say: "Neither candidate’s plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified."

___

THE SPIN: "Here’s what I’ll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than 0,000 a year. Give businesses a tax credit for every new employee that they hire right here in the U.S. over the next two years and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Help homeowners who are making a good faith effort to pay their mortgages, by freezing foreclosures for 90 days. And just like after 9-11, we’ll provide low-cost loans to help small businesses pay their workers and keep their doors open. "

THE FACTS: His proposals — the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more — cost money, and the country could be facing a record trillion deficit next year. Indeed, Obama recently acknowledged — although not in his commercial — that: "The next president will have to scale back his agenda and some of his proposals."

Laura – Obama’s speech became meaningless when he entered Wright’s church and stayed there for 20 years listening to "Black Liberation theology" which is a twisted perversion of the Christian gospel and is heavily racist to the point of wanting to see white people exterminated.

Obama was born to a Muslim father, he had a Muslim grandfather, he was raised
by a Muslim step father, taught as a boy in a Muslim school, tutored by a man who was a sexual pervert and socialist during his early boyhood, attended the church Wright pastored which had many Muslim members, has been praised by Quaddafi and Hamas – Muslim terrorists,
and in an absent-minded moment on tv slipped and said "My Muslim faith."

His friends are terrorists and leaders who hate our nation and want her destroyed from without and within. He has not proven his citizenship, and his biggest campaign issue centered around race. He has promised that his future plans are heavily racial in purpose.

Christian? Never!
Obama voted 4 times against letting a baby receive medical attention if that baby survived an abortion. Fannie and Freddie paid him more than everyone but Chris Dodd and 39 times more than McCain. I believe McCain received a token payment to cover their tracks, and the big three; Dodd, Obama and Kerry were paid to keep their mouths shut or to continue their refusal to vote with Bush
regulate them. Obama has NEVER at any time declared he loves America, but has called our troops terrorists and has downgraded our Constitution. He has lied so many times about so many things
that it is hard to believe he means any of the things he says. He has vacillated on numerous issues, and has never instituted any legislation in his one year that he actually showed up for work in Illinois. He has can speak eloquently about nothing and people look beyond his lack of knowledge and experience like they are in a hypnotic trance. He is a fraud, and unworthy of the respect of any thinking person.

Where can I join liberals anonymous support group?

My dear fellow liberals in this time of our liberal anxiety and repentance I would like to attract yuor attention to this confession of our fellow liberal, who was special counsel to Our Saint President Bill Clinton 1996-98. He was so confused and misguided that he failed to find such liberals anonymous support group and chose inseated to voice his opinion in the evil Wall Street Jourlan, no less. Here it goes :

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703837004575013221708478134.html

Liberal Democrats might attempt to spin the shocking victory of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts by claiming that the loss was a result of a poor campaign by Martha Coakley. Would that it were so. This was a defeat not of the messenger, but of the message—and the sooner progressive Democrats face up to that fact, the better.

It’s the substance, stupid!

According to polls, fears about the Democrats’ health-care proposal played a prominent role in Mr. Brown’s victory yesterday. In the last several months, the minority congressional Republicans have dominated the message on health care—and stamped on the Democratic Party the perception that we stand for big government, higher taxes, and health insecurity when it comes to Medicare.

How is that possible? The Democrats have a simple message on health care that has still not really gotten through: If our bill passes, you never have to worry about getting, or losing, health insurance for the rest of your life. How is it that so few people have heard that message?

President Barack Obama
Then there were the two "deals" that put congressional Democrats in a worse light than the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere"—as impossible as that might have seemed—as an emblem of the special interest politics Barack Obama ran against. We Democrats had to explain to Massachusetts voters and other Americans why non-Nebraskans and nonunion members have to pay more taxes, while Nebraskans and union members get to pay less. Those two deals seem to have alienated most people across the political spectrum. That’s not easy.

Somehow, in the last 12 months, we allowed the party of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama to morph into the party of George McGovern (or more accurately, his most ardent supporters) and Howard Dean, who called for the defeat of the Democratic health-care bill if it had neither a public option or Medicare buy-in. (He couldn’t possibly have been speaking for the 31 million uninsured people in taking that all-or-nothing position.)

In 1996, Mr. Clinton was the first Democrat to win re-election since FDR—expanding the electoral map once again into western, southern, and sunbelt states. He did so by creating a new ideological hybrid for a still-progressive Democratic Party: balanced-budget fiscal conservatism, cultural moderation, and liberal social programs administered by a "lean and mean government." This New Democrat combination appealed to Ross Perot independents concerned about deficits, and also to traditional Republican suburbanites who were culturally moderate on issues like abortion and gay rights but opposed to high taxes and wasteful, big-government bureaucracy.

Then, in 2008, Barack Obama added something extra: a commitment to a "new politics" that transcended the "red" versus "blue" partisan divide. He explained this concept clearly in his 2004 Democratic Convention keynote speech and during his 2008 presidential campaign. It meant compromise, consensus and bipartisanship, even if that meant only incremental change. The purists on the left of the Democratic Party who demanded the "public option" or no bill at all apparently forgot that candidate Obama’s health-care proposal did not include a public option; nor did it include a government mandate for everyone to either purchase insurance or pay a significant tax approximating the cost of that insurance—the "pay or play provision" in both the Senate and House bills.

Bottom line: We liberals need to reclaim the Democratic Party with the New Democrat positions of Bill Clinton and the New Politics/bipartisan aspirations of Barack Obama—a party that is willing to meet half-way with conservatives and Republicans even if that means only step-by-step reforms on health care and other issues that do not necessarily involve big-government solutions.

That’s what Massachusetts Democrats and independent voters were telling national Democrats yesterday. The question isn’t just, will we listen? The question is, will we stop listening to the strident, purist base of our party who seem to prefer defeat to winning elections and no change at all if they don’t get all the change they want.

Stay tuned.

Liberal Democrats might attempt to spin the shocking victory of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts by claiming that the loss was a result of a poor campaign by Martha Coakley. Would that it were so. This was a defeat not of the messenger, but of the message

Will Obama's quest for government run healthcare while more people lose their jobs hurt the Democrats in 2010?

Americans are angry with Washington as much for what it isn’t doing as what it is.

What it isn’t doing the most is paying attention to the still-raging economic disaster.

Last week’s job numbers show unemployment nationally bumping past 10 percent and surpassing 15 percent in Michigan. Unemployment keeps climbing, even though President Barack Obama and Congress nine months ago committed 7 billion to creating jobs.

Since then, neither the White House nor Congress has spent a minute honestly analyzing whether the stimulus program is accomplishing its goal, and if not, what other approaches might work.

Instead, the administration is spinning dismal economic reports into positive news, allowing both it and Congress to ignore the economy while they pursue their ideological ends.

It ought to infuriate anyone who’s lost a job, can’t find a job, is worried about his job or lives in a community ravaged by a lack of jobs that Congress devotes nearly all of its energy to arguing about health care.

My taking a deaf ear to the economy many Democrats could find themselves as part of the unemployed ranks after the Congressional elections next November.

Why wouldn't Obama snacks in Indoesia be a big hit?

Indoesia was Obama’s childhood residense so one would think this would be very popular.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.e51d3128469e20a697ca763ff37e9031.21&show_article=1

A gimmicky snack bearing a caricature of US President Barack Obama making a peace sign has gone on sale in Indonesia, but worried consumer activists are already calling for it to be banned.

The "Obama" snack packet shows a grinning Obama making a peace sign with his right hand and spinning the globe like a basketball on the fingers of his left hand.

It also bears a peace symbol and the word "peace," along with a teaser suggesting that if you are lucky you might win a bonus.

The Indonesian Consumer Foundation has called on the government to investigate, saying the snack is defamatory to President Obama and potentially harmful to children’s health.

"What’s the aim of using such an image? It’s defamation and the producer should be investigated," Foundation head Indah Suksmaningsih said.

Each 500-rupiah (four-cent) packet of "Obamas" contains a small plastic toy which is "unhygienic" and could be mistaken as food by infants, said foundation legal affairs officer Sularsi, who only uses one name.

"We urge the government to investigate the product, which might have a dubious permit," he said.

"Obamas" hit the streets recently in the West Java city of Bandung.

President Obama lived in the Indonesian capital Jakarta from 1967 to 1971 after his mother divorced his Kenyan father and married an Indonesian man.

This childhood connection — and his pledge to break with the foreign policy of the Bush administration — has made him hugely popular in the Southeast Asian country of some 234 million people.
Greg: American Idol made it’s way around the world! They picked him based on looks – ewe.

So are the Drug Lords in Mexico and the USA from Columbia? Hmmm

"Obama graces lottery tickets in Colombia" : It’s a losing ticket for the USA.

How come Rahm Emmanual whines about BP Tony on his yacht but not a peep about Obama at the ball game?

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel says BP CEO Tony Hayward has made another gaffe by going to a yacht race in England while oil continues to spew into the Gulf of Mexico, the Associated Press reports.

Obama Takes In a Ballgame
By SUSAN JO KELLER

“It’s not like I’m the president or anything.”

So said Stephen Strasburg, the Washington Nationals’ rookie pitching star, in an interview last August about the hype that accompanied his first appearance at workouts for the fall instructional league.

Now Strasburg is in the big leagues, and the hype machine is spinning faster than ever, as The Washington Post noted this morning in an article previewing Strasburg’s third career start tonight against the Chicago White Sox.

The 21-year-old pitcher may not want to be president — in any case, he is far too young to run for the job under the Constitution.

But the man who did want the job, Barack Obama, made a surprise trip to the stadium tonight to see what the fuss was all about. Or maybe he just wanted to see his beloved White Sox play again. (The president wore a Sox cap when he threw out the first pitch at the Nats’ home opener this season).

The game was sold out. But apparently there’s always room for a few more. The president’s party included his daughters, Sasha and Malia; his brother-in-law, Konrad Ng; David Axelrod, his senior adviser, and Eric Whitaker, a longtime friend from Chicago.

" I have been in charge since day one" but but but “It’s not like I’m the president or anything.” SO you can’t have your cake and eat it too, either YOU are in charge or your NOT, which is it Obama??

Emanuel, speaking to ABC’s "This Week," said Hayward had "got his life back."

"I think we can all conclude that Tony Hayward is not going to have a second career in PR consulting," Emanuel told ABC in an interview taped Saturday.

And we can conclude that Obama is a one term blunder, one could guess that as usual the Obama Cabal is playing the whining blame game and NOT being the leaders they should be, after all, Obama himself proclaimed " I have been in charge since day one", what a pathetic excuse for a "leader".

An excerpt from an article written by Thomas B. Edsall at the ==>huffington post.<==

No matter what else he achieves or where he falls short, Barack Obama can lay claim to the title of King of Corporate Subsidies.

Using any of a variety of measures, the Obama administration has broken all records in the distribution of taxpayer dollars to American businesses, primarily banks, automobile manufacturers and insurance companies.

The tidal wave of dollar bills has stunned folks on all sides of the political spectrum.

How will the 0baama spin machine handle Missouri's 71% NO vote on 0baamacare?

Missouri voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected a federal mandate to purchase health insurance, rebuking President Barack Obama’s administration and giving Republicans their first political victory in a national campaign to overturn the controversial health care law passed by Congress in March.

Is this article spinning the truth?

http://www.aolnews.com/surge-desk/article/president-obama-supports-ground-zero-mosque/19593492
"Obama SUPPORTS Ground Zero Mosque."

"President Barack Obama gave a THUMBS UP today to a proposed Islamic community center and mosque that is slated to be built two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks in lower Manhattan. "

Supports?
Thumbs up?

Really? That’s not what I heard.

These were his exact words:
"as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country."
"That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances."

To me, it sounds like all he’s saying is he defends their legal right to do this.
That’s a whole lot different from SUPPORTING it.

What Obama did was more like saying, "I defend your right to have freedom of speech" regardless of how he views that speech personally.

I think this article took what he said way out of context.
